Hi cba
You should be able to do Subtitles by selecting TEXT from the Media Generators. You have to create a separate Video Track and place above everything else (Or at least above your images).
Using the Tabs, you can then select placement, fonts and other properties. Your going to have to use the Keyframe Controller Timeline to determine when and where the subtitles are used.
(I'm using V4)

;D oh.. now how to insert new material into a project on the timeline without messing up what u already done? like at the last minute i want to add something in the middle of a almost done project, for example, like insert a word into a word document without messing up the doc, how do that in vegas?
I've read a vegas book but many things still don't know how do... thx again if anybody know :

That would be a job for ripple editing, which will allow you to do that. Look in Vegas Help for a detailed explanation.
