You should be able to right-click on the audio track, bring up the Properties, and then choose Mono/Stereo and the audio channel you want the audio to appear in.
Some great feature to do it is in the beginning when you open a new project:
Open edius
Make a new project.
Go to channel mapping
See that the default channel mapping is all done on 2 channels.
But what you will see that there are now 8 channel to map the 4 channels accordingly.
Now map them.

this way you will get he single sound tracks on single tracks in the nle..vey nice though..and not so much clicking..!
