How to design camera rig so the shoulder mount moves independenlty?

I'm trying to design my rig so that the shoulder mount plus all the camera, 35mm adapter, and lens moves independently on the rail system. The reason is, I am trying to balance the camera with the shoulder mount. I was thinking of double railing system but I couldn't figure out how to fit/work with my configuration showing below.



Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Maybe I'm missing something but from the photo couldn't you loosen off just the shoulder mount and move it back and forwards to find the balance point? With the rest of the rig locked off the centre of gravity isn't going anywhere, you just have to put the should mount directly under it.

Thanks for the response. Oh, I think I have the wrong picture up. However, now that you mentioned it, it gives me an idea. Many thanks though. I'll see what I can do.
