Hey guys, last christmas i went to the beach and took my manfrotto photo tripod with me (cheap manfrotto one), i made some timelapses in the sand and some of the sand sticked to my tripod in lots of different places. So i came back home, i took a shower with my tripod and tried to remove most of the sand from it, i took away almost 80% of the sand but there is still some sand in some really hard to get places and some other sand in no visible places (like inside the legs) i know this because when i open the tripod legs they dont open smoothly. So, any of you guys have any tip on removing sand from my tripod and maybe a tip on preventing any other beach and sand related problem in the future?

Thx in advance

How hard is it to dismantle it? If possible I would take it all apart and clean all the grit out of it. It will only get worse over time as the sand scores the aluminum leg extensions. Is it single tube legs with twist locks or the type with multi tube extensions? If it has the multi tube type extensions than maybe a hose aimed at the joints as you slide them up and down would do the trick. If it is the type with twist locks than I would take it all apart.
