How to change wall Background color without affecting foreground subject? (HELP!)

Case in point I shot a Male singer singing in front of a white wall, problem is the wall was not that well lit and I want to achieve an infinite white background look. I know this can be done by rasing the contrast , but it affects the singer. I only want to change the brightness of the wall.

Can this be done?

Thanks

Bounce your project to Color, then go to one of your secondaries and either do a color key and raise the exposure for just the selected range of whites, or create a polygon vignette around your singer and raise the exposure outside the vignette. You'll probably have to do a ton of tweaking so that the edges are just right, and if the singer is moving slightly you might need to use the motion tracker.

Thanks for the help, but since it was actually for a family friend we just decided to finish the project and put it out since he wanted to use it for personal usage. I was able to do it a little bit, but it would simply take to long to get it perfect.

Once again, thank you
