how to capture two separate audios for editing

Hi there! Beat me up for stupid questions, but...

Have been using two different mics, one into each audio-in-plug of the cam, to record a) main voice and b) replies of listeners onto the tape.

can I have these two different audios being captured seaparately into the computer, onto 2 different audio tracks? And how? Or will it always be one single mixed audio track? Am using Premiere 6.5 for editing.

Thanx for help!

When you import your video to Premiere, you will have one stereo track. Duplicate the track so you have two identical audio tracks. Pan one hard left and the other hard right. (blue rubber bands).

Why would this be a stupid question? No one knows everything.
