how to balance camera on tripod?

Re: how to balance camera on tripod?

If you tilt the camera up or down, and it doesn't stay where you put it (springs back), then adjust the CG until it 'stays put.'. The 'spring back' is really noticable on close ups and at extreme telephoto shots and not such a big deal on wide shots.

hmm.. it doesnt spring back at any setting, maybe cause the camera is light? like, it stays where i put it at practically every setting except extreme downward angles

I hate to burst your bubble, but that FanCier "fluid" head is a piece of junk! I know because I have one - another wonderful product of China. If you just need static shots then it will work fine. But if you need to pan or tilt don't count on getting a decent shot. The only solution I have for you is to invest in a good fluid head from a proven name. You can still use the sticks you have (they will suffice) but get a good head to put on them. ;)
