How to apply effect into entire time line?

I have read some posts on this topic but I still have yet to find a good explanation.

Seems to me that you should be able to select the entire timeine somehow and the add the effect all at one time instead of pasting attributes to each clip. Pasting attributes is just as much work unless you have more than one effect you want to copy to each clip.

You can start a new sequence and drag the old sequence into the new sequence's timeline and then add the effect.

or

You could add the effect to one of the clips and right click - copy. Then highlight all the clips and "paste attributes" or something like that.
