How to apply a delay in a live audio feed

So the production I am currently working on is using a wireless HD video feed to supply picture to video village. That is all fine and dandy, but it causes a 1.5 second delay to the monitor, which brings me to the point of this post.

They were hoping that I could apply the same delay to my wireless feed to the headphones at video village... and I'm not exactly sure how to do that. Is there a delay function built in (via hardware or software) to certain recorders, or would I have to obtain an external device to delay the signal?

I run a Sound Devices 302 mixer into an Edirol R-4 recorder, then from the R-4 supply mono wireless feeds out to the camera and the monitor.

Any suggestions/knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

why not send sound by the same channel as video, so you would get same delay ?
to create delay you can use VLC, there is a feature to set delay between input and output stream.

If nosys' solution isn't possible, you can get delay boxes pretty readily at any pro-audio shop. Something capable with that long a delay might be a little tougher though.

I think your either going to end up sending it through the same wireless hop or using an external box. If you are sending them a mono feed you can get a stereo delay and daisy chain the two sections. That will give you a better chance of finding a reasonably priced box with that long a delay.
