How to advertise for talent?

Hello,

My video production company (startup) aims to produce promotional and training videos for small- to mid-sized firms and not-for-profits. In many of these videos, I anticipate the on-screen "talent" to come from the client (their employees being taped doing what they normally do every day, etc). But for some of these, I'll want pro or aspiring pro talent.

At this stage, I don't expect to be going for union talent. Since a lot of these productions will involve actors doing things on-screen while a voice narrates, there's not a lot of "true acting" talent involved.

A friend recommended advertising on Craigslist. I'm hoping to identify a small stable of people whom I could call upon to take on some of these roles, not just a one-off (though I may need that soon, too). Any advice on the Craigslist route, or other options? What would the content of a good ad specify? What would a pay rate for this kind of work look like? This is in the Washington, DC area, by the way.

Thanks!

Do a google for "actors" and "talent" , and you might even throw in your state. There are tons of boards for actors.
