I found a magnet this weekend that is used on a bag cilp for potatoe chips and such but it was definitely not strong enough. So Im' wondering what is the best size, and strength magnet to use in order to flip your lcd for 35 mm adapters?

If you could let me know where to purchase it'd be even better!

I have one that I got from my refrigerator. It's a tiny, round one. It works fine.

Are you putting it in the right spot?
Be careful, sometimes your lcd will just shut off and you won't be able to get it back unless you turn off the power and turn it back on.

Put the magnet near the hinge of the LCD. Where it connects to the DVX.
Try moving it up and down the hinge until it flips, then leave the magnet there.

I've got some very small (.4 in x .25 in) "rare earth" magnets. I wonder if they're TOO strong. I have to slide them along the refrigerator door and get them to the edge to get them off.

rare earth is way too strong. it's field may reach to the heads which are magnetic. this could cause serious problems.

i use a low power alnico which is so weak it won't even stick to the lcd by itself. i have to gaff tape it but it flips no prob. to me, magnets and magnetic tape should never be mixed so the weaker the better. got mine at ace hardware. $3.00
