How old is your working calculator?

I have 2 still working. One is from around 1984ish just right after the LED ones so maybe 86 or so, and the other is from around 2001. Both bought from Radio Shack. The latter has solar cells for battery backup.
Haven't replaced a battery in either yet and they both still work. Pretty amazing these days.

1991 - LCD style. As with you, still the same battery.

Had many others that have died on me.

BTW - what is an 'app' I don't understand that word.

LOL

I still have an original Casio 4 function calculator I inherited from father. The very first battery operated pocket calculator model ever sold. It was around $200 at the time I think (around 1970) My engineering calculator is a TI Scientific graphic model that cost like $15 about 10 years ago. Has all of the common physics constants as well as the usual functions. Times have changed.

Mine was born in 1977 but prone to inaccuracies. It goes through a lot of paper and pencil lead on the harder calculations. OldNogginTM.

I've still got mum's old calculator from when she was at work, just a basic Casio 4-function LCD jobbie. She retired in '89, and she'd had it a while before that. The lCD is getting a bit hard to read but still usable.

Mum passed away on the 20th this month, aged 92.

I have a Hitachi calculator with the original Hitachi batteries still inside . They read 1983 on both batteries and they look brand new and work just as good as back in 1983. Pretty amazing. Using it from time to time and despite me spilling some coke on the calculator like 15 years ago it works fine.

I also have a solar powered calculator from Casio from the middle eighties. Works as new and I have an Avid branded solar powered calculator but that one is a youngster - from 1997!

on the older casio scientific calculators fx75-100, i had to replace the batteries a few times, i don't think they like big operations(you could only type 84 characters). and it takes a few seconds to calculate. newer models (fx-570 i think the blue and silver ones) and up don't use up as much energy or don't use up as much energy on big calculations, even tho the lcd screen is much bigger. 2big lines for the operation and one line for the result.
