I was wondering if anyone would know what would be a reasonable amount of $ to pay for a editor. I know editors charge about $200/hr. but what about for low budget short?
Have any of you had your short edited by someone else that charged? if you did what did you pay?
1. Its cheaper to learn how to edit yourself. It's really not that hard to learn.
2. Find someone that wll edit for free. I don't know if theres alot of filmmakers/editor in Canada but I know if you look hard enough, I'm sure you'll find one.
Unless you have no time at all, give it a whirl. In a weekend you can be up in running and no stress on costs to make minor changes. For what you will pay to have someone edit you can own the software and upgrade the puter if needed... and for your next project it will bought and paid for waiting for you.
I guess I forgot to mention that this is what my friend who shot his short film is asking but I have no clue.. so I asked here. I would edit his film... but I'm a newbie in that and I am editing my short right now.. so theres no way I would have time for time... just wondering. thanks.
