How much would this cost?

[Ewan L]

I'm thinking of doing a documentary on Glasgow. It should be about an hour long, average length of s documentary.

I want to hire someone who can narrate it. How much would you say it would cost me to hire someone cheap, but gets the job done?

Under $1000? For some person who just wants to star at something like this?

Thanks!

Would you want someone with an appropriate Glasgow accent?

Yes, that is reasonable for non-union for an off-camera v.o. session.
If he is smart, he will put a limit on how long the session can run (something like 4 hours).
Be sure to have him sign a contract giving you all the rights you need (which would be all the rights...in perpetuity!).
If he is popular, he will push back. If not, I've gotten it done for that price (and less!). But you should pay what his time is worth. Don't burn bridges.

Yes, definitely.
