How much weight can the HVX handle safely take?

I've got a 7" portable dvd player to be used as a monitor and I want to attach it to the handle of the HVX, it weighs probably about 2.5 - 3 pounds. Would this be safe? Would it be ok to attach the monitor this way and then hold the camera by the handle (so all weight is placed on handle)?

I don't have rails just yet so it won't be a long term solution.

At the P2 Clinic, Spec-Comm showed a little Zacuto accessory, actually a formed piece of plastic, that fits under the front of the HVX handle to provide support. Might help with what you want to do. It looked pretty handy, but it was $75.
