How much space for offlining

I am new to FCP and want to have an idea of how many gigs is necessary as I digitize my footage from my dvx-100A into my PowerBook. I am producing a documentary and have fifty-five hours of footage to work with. What does that translate to if I am offlining low-res?

DV Storage ratio, also caution with low res

General rule of thumb is about 13GB/hour for regular DV. About 1/10 of that for offline RT. Word of caution: if you shot in 24PA with with your Panasonic, I would suggest first capturing footage in full rez 23.98 with pulldown removal, later go to media manager and downrez the footage to offline rt. If you capture with offline rt with advanced pulldown you might run into some problems as system is doing double duty.

Alexander, I shot standard 24p, so I assume that what you mentioned about 24PA does not apply in my case. Is that correct?
