How much should I get paid?

So I am having trouble coming up with a reasonable price but here is the situation. My friend works at a fitness club. They asked him if he would do some film work for them and he got them to ok me helping him with it. Because he already works there it sounds like they would like to pay us by the hour rather than have us bid the project. for the project they want us to interview around 15 of their trainers for about an hour each (30 min of a straight interview, and 30 min of them at work) and then to film a walkthrough of the gym with the general manager. They want one video of all of the trainers just to introduce them. They want one video as a welcome video, introducing the gym as a whole. One video is a walkthrough of the gym highlighting what they offer. The last video is of the trainers again but I believe it is more in depth talking about what they offer over other gyms etc. So, four videos in total all of which are to be used for their website. I would guess the walkthrough and the introducing the gym videos will be roughly 5-10 minutes. The introducing the trainers will be 3-5 minutes, and the other video with the trainers will be around 10 minutes possibly a bit longer. They want to pay my friend and I by the hour and I have no idea what we should be expecting to get paid. Keep in mind we will both be working the same amount of hours. Each of us are cinema majors at our school, each with previous experience in videography. I have not done a corporate video before, but I have no doubt that i will turn out something good ( also, she showed us a video as an example of one of her competitors and it was TERRIBLE, so she hasnt set the bar too high which is nice) so, what should we ask for per hour, or what should we expect.......also any suggestions to help us out with this are always appreciated

Thanks Guys,

If your friend works there, I'm guessing they expect to pay him his regular hourly wage, whatever that is. I hope not, because it's probably WAY less than what would be appropriate for a film crew. But get that question answered first.

Are they expecting you to tell them how much to pay you by the hour?

Yah basically My understanding is that they want to pay us around 8.50 an hour which in my opinion is way less than I should be getting and RIDICULOUSLY lower than anyone else would bid on the project. I don't think they want us to name the price but I believe they are wiling to negotiate.....so What do you think my goal price should be?

I would go for a flat rate. How many hours are you doing to work? What kind of work is involved? How many days is it? How long will you spend editing?

Yah the whole thing is that I can't just go for a flat price for the project they want to pay by the hour so im looking for a ballpark range of what an hourly rate for corporate videos would turn out to be.

Okay say you work 3 days 10 hours a day. and you spend 25 hours editing. I would say $25 an hour. thats about $1300 after taxes even less. I'm not sure what kind of product they want but if they're going to pay you 8.50 an hour it comes to about 500 bucks for 55 hours. That's nothing!

Ok yah 500 for 55 hours is definitely not worth it....unfortunately it is two of us doing this job so i think we are going to shoot for around $15 an hour each. So yah about 25 to 30 an hour total. I don't think we will be doing 30 hours of filming, but I think most of this project will be in editing....or at least a good chunk of it
