How much resolution loss with adaptor? 1080 ?

Astigmatic - I didn't understand that at all.

lol, neither did I.

I guess to put simply. You can gauge how much degradation of resolution is caused by the 35mm lens by shooting a chart through the adapter with the ground glass removed.

This can also be simulated by attaching a macro lens to the camera and placing the 35mm lens in front of the macro lens, spaced with a tube... in other words, a 35mm adapter with no ground glass.. you would get the field of view, but not the shallow depth.

Evangelos,

OK I will do that next time.
When I posted those I was not primarily interested in CA, color, accurate resolution or other issues, only overall flat field focusing and roughly comparative sharpness which are clear. I wanted them, small enough to download easily and fill only my 24" screen.

Astigamitic - I think the ground glass itself is a big part of the degradation so just shooting through the lens would not be accurate.

This method was because people were concerned about how much degradation was accounted for by the lens, versus the adapter itself. Once you gauge how much loss of res is created by the lens, then you can more accurately gauge how much rez is lost by the adapter gg itself.
