How much faster/better is v9 Pro or v10 Pro with AVCHD (AVCCAM HMC) than 8?

Just wondering how much faster/better is v9 Pro or v10 Pro with AVCHD (AVCAM HMC) than version 8 pro?

Sony Vegas 10 working with Panasonic HMC-150 AVCHD

Does Sony Vegas 10 read the Panasonic HMC-150 AVCHD files without an intermediate codec (raylight, cineform) ? I have never tried to import files from this camera, and am currently using Sony Vegas 8. Does anyone out there have an experience working with these files?
 
V8 does but on my overclocked quad core Intel it runs at about 5fps :( I had to use Cineform but wondered how much better v10 would be. Turns out I read another post AFTER posting this that says the new versions has a far better codec in it.
 
I tried the trial of 10. My 720p24 MTS files from HMC-150 play at full rate. Added a curves correction. Still played at full rate. This is on my i7 740 laptop with 8G and Windows 7. I'm gonna make the purchase.
