I was wondering for those of you who work with a quad-core Mac and the fastest fibre channel storage along with a Kona card - How many tracks of uncompressed 10 bit SD can you get? Tracks that have basic motion effects and color correction applied. Also, for those who work with DVCPRO HD, how many tracks of RT can you get working in a 100 mbps sequence?
I'm consulting on the purchase of a new system and am anticipation that the yet to be realeased octo-core Mac will be at the very least 10% more efficient than the quad-core.
I don't work with a quad-core so your comments will be helpful for me.
