haha... it can last 1 years if it's open all years or 15 years if you keep it in the box! You know what I mean... Pookie is right, there are too many variables!
till it dosen't turn on anymore. Seriously, if you take care of it, it can last for decades. I have a monitor that's about 15yrs old and still working pretty good.
Years dude, hopefully you'll have made enough money that buying a new Pro one will be like going out for beers by the time it burns a permanent image. I think that's the thought with all the equipment we plunk our scarce resources on.
Hehe pretty funny, you guys read the thread title but not the text of my question, which was how long does it take for a static image to get burned if you leave it on there continuosly.
fyi someone pm'ed me the info, seems anywhere from 15 minutes to 2 weeks can permanently burn an image in, with the exception of lcd monitors which do not have this issue.
i guess it's ok to be rude to the new guy eh pookie
If you have the monitor properly calibrated, and the voltage feeding the monitor is constant, and the image you are displaying is not extremely contrast heavy, or overly bright. You probably have 500-1000 hours before noticable burn in. BUT if any of those factors are not ideal - then burn in could occur in under an hour. THAT'S why nobody can really give a definitive answer to the question.
