Hey guys, after endless walls with FCP7 and my MTS files, I have downloaded the FCPX trail. I was able to import the MTS files just fine and got them all onto one timeline. Then I simply hit "share" and since I am in the trail version I was not able to send it to Compressor without buying compressor- so I chose DVD instead.
Now, there are 7 clips of MTS files that are roughly 20-25 minutes per clip and totaling 8GB of HD footage. The "burning" process has not moved in quite some time now... The time on the media share window shows a working time of 4 hours and 50 minutes (and counting). Do you guys feel this is correct since it is 8GB of footage or should it be going faster?
I am tempted to use Pavtube to convert the MTS files into one lump ProRes file and just go back to FCP7, but after "memory full" and "general error" dialogue boxes, I just don't know that FCP7 is worth the time to revisit.
