Who cares about how he floats, I want to know how they got Windows Vista on a PowerPC Mac!
Parallels haha. Maybe they should have had a mac with the linux logo on the back and a windows vista download screen going?
A wire rig is basically the actor wearing some sort of harness and some wires holding him up, in post the wires are removed.

so how exactly are the wires deleted from the scene?Seeing as they touch the subject?

I'd bet no wires there - look at how his top dangles down - over the table/platform/box painted green. He's simply laying on his stomach on a support, with a fan. A bit of movement of him in the frame and you're done. The used to have this kind of setup on display at the old MOMI museum in London where visitors would lay on the block and see themselves flying!
With my production manager's hat on, NEVER even contemplate flying a person on wires without proper kit. Foys and Hifly are probably the two best know companies, and wearing a flying harness is unpleasant, painful and quite dangerous without the correct types of harness and attachments. Not a DIY possibility. It's even now known that being suspended in a proper safety style harness can actually harm you due to the restriction of the blood supply if hanging for too long. I fly people from time to time, and the safety checks, the testing and the training requirements are very strict - and rightly so!
