how important is the graphic card for FCP

Hello,
I'm just curious how important the graphic card for FCP is? Does it matter at all as long as you don't use motion?

With 5.1 the graphic card became important to FCP, not just motion. With 5.1.2 it became even more important. I can tell you with great conviction that when FCP 6.0 comes out, FCP will need a strong graphics card as much as Motion does. It is actually a good thing for Apple to do. It'll make FCP more powerful. So, from 5.1.2 on, yes, you're really going to need a good graphics card.
