When your editing is colour correction really that important. Hi guys I'm editing a new video of mine and my friend says i should colour correct it when I'm finished. How important is colour correcting? will it matter if i dont bother with it?
Depends on whether you want your video to look "so-so" or "wow!" Ironically, the more I try to get as close to the final look I want in-camera (and proper video cameras are much better able to achieve this than DSLRs), the more I find that, at the very least, I still have to tweak it occasionally to get all the way there.
Sometimes it is important, it depends on the goal. To have a really finished look, it is pretty important. But I also have seen to many short films where the person knew very little about color correcting and made things worse.
Just as an example of what color correcting or in my case its more color adjusting, can do to your shots, here is a couple before and after screens from my Remorse video. I used Vegas Pro 10 for this.

With a little practice you can make any bland shot look great.
