How hard is it to get in contact with your editor?

The guy I'm using actively shoots for a few people and runs his own company. I need to get questions answered and I can't get in touch with him for days sometimes. :kali:

This is prolly why I became an editor. I could never have the patience to wait on one.
If it's an on-going gig, he needs to be answering or calling you back within the hour. BY the day's end at the very least. If he's avoiding you, I have to think the gig is a done deal in his eyes.

Chewing the fat with my current editor last week he told me he's unable to work with 1080p or 720p. He edits for some big names in my industry, HD and all. But why would he be unable to accept 720p?

I miss texas. The food alone is worth returning.
His SD playback capabilities may just be limited. Can you not reach him by email either?
Don't let geaography handicap you in today's high bandwidth world. There are several here who can have you rockin within a day.

All you really need now-a-days is an FTP. I edit for a company in NYC, and I live about 5 hours away from the city. I download the files from the server, edit, and send em back.

I don't understand why he would be limited he edits in SD and HD. He has not returned my emails yet. The geography is not a problem, as of now he is on the other side of the states.

I think for my next project I'll use an editor I know out in Cali.

Yeah. I edit my own stuff too. I wouldn't want to wait nor trust other with my footage.

Or even direct, hope they get it, wait on the edit, rexplain what I was talking about then surrender to his limitations.
Life is too dang long for that. Hop out of the chair, skippy. Daddy has a show to make.
;)

I get back to people by the end of the day if I'm busy, it's never taken longer, at least during a project. If the project isn't going I might spend time being gone, but that's a different situation. I'm also a pretty good editor. And I can easily handle various sizes of footage, including 1080p. At a reasonable price.

Just in case you were wondering.
