How downconvert from HD to SD in Edius

I have some HD footage (1080i) and I need to downconvert to 720 x 480 (4:3 miniDV format)....Can I do this in Edius in a perfect way, considerent the diferents pixel aspects and field order?

If yes, how is the workflow?

I'm pretty sure it's just as simple as putting the footage in the project settings you want. And how you output. The footage will maintain it's settings, frame rate, aspect ratio, etc, but it will drop right into the timeline of the project settings you have chosen. It won't squeeze your widescreen footage though or something. It'll just letterbox it to fit in the 4:3 ratio. The rest should pretty much take care of itself. Then just output like you want to, and it should take care of it all for you to, if you use the wizard. I'm pretty new to Edius, but I have put different file types on different timellines, and output hd footage to dvd etc. I havent really had to do anything special, so far. Just choose my project, edit, and output.

Yup, Jason's right. Just start a 720x480 4:3 DV project, then drop your 1080i footage onto the timeline.

If you don't want it letterboxed, you can use the Layout function (default is F7 in EDIUS v4) to scale/crop/reposition the clip as necessary. Since EDIUS is still reading the original 1080i resolution, you can crop/zoom in to a specific area and still have a sharp picture.
