How does Uwe Boll do it?

There are a some really good videogames with a great story. Tomb Raider, Doom and the Boll-stuff are none of these.

If I had enough money I would do: Grand Theft Auto, Deus Ex (best game ever), Baldur's Gate (IMO better story than LOTR), Syndicate, Half-Life.

Baldur's Gate would be cool, but it would cost a lot of cash.
Here is a throw back. I'd like to do Double Dragon, but good.

you guys actually read the wikipedia stuff?

in case ur not familier, wikipedia is completely user written, and corrected, so anyone can go and drasitically change the entry for "christianity" if they wanted (although the community is remarkably well self regulated)

anyway, the Uwe Boll entry is pretty harsh, whoever wrote that stuff didn't mind making him look like kind of an ass, and I guess no ones felt the need to correct anything (although i guess someone recently "flagged" it for possible change, but didnt actually correct anything)

just interesting

Uwe Boll must be a fantastic bullshtiter. That's the only explanation I have for him attracting good acting talent.

There's no secret to getting good acting talent - pay them.

Whoa, yesterday Boll's "House of the dead" aired on pay-tv and I watched the last 45 minutes, which was the first time I saw a Boll flick.

I actually had a lot of fun, because it was SO bad on many levels.

You know, I just don't dig these kinds of movies but this thread has got me way curious. I am now going to actually spend money on this clown. I use the term, "clown" loosely, and totally based on the general opinion of this guy. I am going to go out and rent HOUSE OF THE DEAD. Any other suggestions? Because I will try, to sit through it...if its as bad as everyone says it is.

However, I reserve the right to NOT finish the flick. Just throwing that out there....

I just saw Bloodrayne lastnight On Demand....I want my money back. Even my daughter apologized to me.

Quick look on IMDB shows Kristanna Loken is in the latest, In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale.

Its the only Uwe Boll movie I've ever seen, that I know of.

On the upside, his work is truly inspiring....

Inspiring me to do more of my own stuff.

One more comment about Bloodrayne...I know I should prob dig up the old BloodR, thread, but....after waking up most of the way thru it, it dawned on me. The musical score was like, CONTINUOUS. I dont think there was even a partial scene in the last hour that I was awake that wasnt set to thematic music...no sequence of dialogue, nothing. It ALL had music. I cant remember a single other film I've ever seen where the music didnt stop at least somewhere for the scene. And it really bugged me.

Ok, I'm done.

Thanks.

I think he treatens producers and actors to a fight in the ring in case they don't work with him.

Uwe Boll doesn't like "wannabe filmmakers" since his level of filmmaking has never risen above the wannabe stage. He's jealous of people that actually have talent, not just resources.

OK, I finally saw the production trailer for :
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

Holy smokes that movie rips-off more than Tarantino does on a good day.

Just some of the movies that sifted through my brain as I watched it:

Lord of the Rings Trilogy (obviously) - band of warriors aerial shots in beautiful landscapes, large battle scenes, cable cam battle scenes, rainy/muddy orc armor scenes, gratuitous skycam shots, blah blah blah

Conan the Barbarian: the battle shot with the sunbeams in the forest, the general feel of the movie

House of Flying Daggers: ninja-type guys flyin' through the forest

The Transporter: yep Jason Statham is at it again, dispatching two baddies with a flyin' fu kick, and jump flyin' with 2 swords

Tremors: OK, this time it's a humanoid cruising underground - explain that one

Cirque du Soleil (OK, not a movie): synchronized jungle vine aerobatics

Star Wars saga: hmm, force push anyone?

The Matrix 2:Reloaded : flying spinning weapon guys

Excalibur : "God save the king!" to a crowd in the forest, not a direct quote, but it has the same feeling

The Matrix : slo-mo sword dodge

...feel free to add more.

Also some other tidbits:

"...comfort me"
"...shall be destroyed!"
"I am your king!"
"Life has never been so exciting."

Now that's some bad acting.

Somebody shoot me now. Please.

Watch the trailer for yourself to get some incentive:
