How do you shoot in 3D?

I just want to try this out now... It just seems like it could yield really funky but fun results. Originally when I asked the question I had no desire to try, but now I'm excited by it.

Lol. Sure i am not the first one to think about this, but i know a lot of people how would love to see their wedding or a good X movie in 3D (unexpensive 3D if you have two dvxs...)

As an update to an already out of date thread, I just got access to another DVX, so I am going to try to run a test on this in the next couple of days and see how it works out... Try to actually put together some 3D footage.

Yankee, please show us soon what you can do.
At the end, no one showed anything. And i am very curious about this.

Well I will have access to a second DVX this upcoming Saturday so I am going to just lock them down and see what I can do. From that point I am going to try the gamma spread as described in the thread.

I came up with another solution to this, but it seems really time intensive. Adobe Photoshop has a 3D filter effect. If you could export single frames into Photoshop and apply the filter, then export back out to your NLE you might be able to put it back together and see if with motion that works... I don't know, just seems really time intensive.

You figure that it takes what? 15 seconds a frame to open, repeat the filter and save. 24 frames a second, that is 4 minutes of work for a second of footage, you need at least ten seconds to make it show up at all (ideally 30 seconds) so you're looking at 40 minutes for ten seconds of footage or two hours for thirty seconds... That just seems tedious...

I am going to try the split method though and see what I can come up with... should at least be interesting.
