How do you rig your mirror ball?

Getting into image based lighting, bought me a mirror ball, don't know a good way to rig it other than some sticky thumbtack goo on a light stand. Your thoughts?

Literally just held it up to the camera. Didn't seem to be a problem to have a person in frame, unless you're really worried about using it as a reflection map and not a lighting map.

I wouldn't even bother using a mirror ball for a reflection map. Just take a few pictures and apply them to a large cylinder around your scene. You have to stretch the mirror ball to get it undistorted anyway, which loses resolution.

180 degree fisheye lens (or something close to it) will do the same job as a mirror ball, and you don't have to polish the surface or worry about the camera/operator/tripod being in the scene.
