How do you request news footage?

[PerroneFord]

In putting together my documentary, I've run into a small snag. I find I am in need of some news footage that happened in the time period. Is there a way to request that footage from a TV station or something? Are there usual and customary costs?

Thanks for any insight.

here are a couple of links, some may have news footage, some simply stock footage.
The dmoz site probably will be of some assistance regarding news from now or from
