How do you power off your shotgun mic again? (NTG-2)

sorry for the stupid question.
it's been a while for me to use the NTG-2 and I kinda want to refresh my memory.

so did I have to unplug the XLR cable so I know the power is off for my NTG-2? or did I just have to turn off my camera and leave everything pluged...?
(I didn't have to unscrew it and take out the battery ...right??)

well it doesnt have a power on and off button so i assume when the camera is off its off..but if u have batteries in it it will keep draining 'em as with any other thing. I just use the phantom power. I;ve never used my ntg2 with batteries as yet
