How do you offload files from the card?

Simple question, how do you offload the files from the card? Do you just grab JUST the mxf files or do you copy the entire card keeping it's file structure?

I'm using the PX270 and HC-X1000.
 
I make a backup first of the entire card, then I either copy the entire card to my edit raid, or I'll transcode to my edit raid depending.
 
I use ShotPut Pro to copy the card structure to an archive drive, then have that archive drive backed up to another drive via Carbon Copy Cloner
 
You want the entire card, all folders, and the LastClip.text file.

But you also want to use a P2 offload manager like P2 Viewer or P2CMS or ShotPut Pro. This is superior to just copying folders in every way.
 
Any reason to get everything? Will any software actually use them?

Alos what does P2 Viewer do exactly? I tried it but it only seemed to change the extension.
