How do you give Final Cut CPU Priority?

I have a new 8 core 2.8GHz Mac Pro with Final Cut Studio 2, Leopard and 4 GB Ram.

The CPUs show they are only using about 20%, is there are a way to boost it?

Thanks

Not really. Would be nice if it could be tuned a la The Fast and The Furious but it doesn't work that way.

I've heard that it is possible but it may involve a line of code being entered into Termianl.

Anyone know the code?

hi.

go to terminal in utilities folder in applications.
type: top
and you will see current running processes.
then look what number fcp is from the list and there you can see also how much percentage of the cpu it is using.
then type: (applebutton) .
then type: sudo renice -20 498
498 representing the number of fcp, it might be another number for you, so check it...
ok... hit return and then type your password...
fcp should be the top priority on your list now...

you can also go to utilities and directory access.
turn off ldapv2, ldapv3 and rendezvous. (and appletalk if you are not on that)

well, this is information from DMTS training cd´s...
try it out...
i havent done it yet, bacause i am quite satisfied so far...
