How do you get new clients

Sadude, no problem. I wanted to talk like a potential client to give you a better feel for what I was saying. I was not offended in anyway.

See, I love it here at DVX, I have gotten some amazing advice from talented individuals. I want to help you. Even if it is just to repay those that helped me. So later today I will go over what you asked, and give my input. It's not much, but it will give you a different perspective.

Note: Blogs are nice, but a potential client most likely will not read it when making a decision to contact you. Blogs are a good way for past clients, friends, and employees to catch up with the new things. But always look at your site as being your advertisement for new business. Justify the real estate you spend on it to go after those clients.

Since you have footage on TV, by all means, tell people that. If you are, tell them that your company is familiar with the rigorous specifics that the deliverables have to have for TV. But, yeah, Video Production opens new markets for you (industrial, internet, Films, etc.), as TV limits you to just that market. I wouldn't call a TV company if I needed to have a training video shot for internal use for new employees at my company. Nor would I if I was shooting a Internet video or music video. My initial thought would be, "wow, these guys would be pricey. Could they do it, maybe, but they only do TV stuff."

why is that misleading? what must i do write on there. if you watched the show you would see that they do not use animation. they have a blue board and 2d drawings appear on the board.

I read your followup post and I know you took the video down, but felt compelled to explain my post anyway: The first time I looked at your website, I was only half paying attention. I saw the Mythbusters youtube link and watched it. My thoughts were, "Wow, he's getting work doing animations for Discovery. Why the hell is he asking how to get clients, seems like he's pretty connected." The I read the description and it kind of made sense.

So if myself, who's been in this business for well over 10 years now had trouble deciphering the purpose of that vid, how is a potential client with no experience in video production/film/TV going to know what's up?

Hope that clarifies things. I know it's old news by now, but I'm just checking this board after a lapse in time.

i checked out your 30 second spots that you made on your ad link. I was wondering where you flight those adverts. Is it on tv or internet. And also do you organise the broadcasting and flighting of the ads your self? I am interested to know because here we basically have a few channels that broadcast but its not much
