Hey guys im using ppro 2.0 and i've been messing around with a bunch of the settings, trying to get the best quality when i export it, but the quality always seems sub-par. So just wondering what you guys have used for the best quality. (Oh yeah and after i export i plan to burn to dvd, just so's you know)

Here is what I do.
I finish the final cut. I then select Export and choose Movie. I select Quicktime and for compressor, choose None. I then render the uncompressed copy for my backup.
Then I burn a copy for DVD. Here is how. It is a 24p project so I want it to look right on DVD. I export and choose Adobe media Encoder. I select MPEG2 and then under Presets (NTSC Generic MPEG) I choose 24p project and choose Pulldown 3:2. I set quality at 5, and choose CBR and a bitrate of 6.00. I leave everything else as is and render the MPEG2 file and then put it onto DVD.

i need help

i need help

I have the Production Suite.
I want to export about 90 minutes of footage to encore.
What are the best settings to use to get great quality?
It will be put on a dvd that will then be sent for duplication.
Thanks.

Try both constant bitrate and variable, crank up the quality and burn a little slower so you don't get coasters.
Burn at 24p in Encore also!!!!!!!!!!
I have been after reading that all DVD's you rent/buy are 24p and your player converts for the interlace.
Working for me in 24p....ya baby....

How exactly do you put the MPEG2 file on DVD?

And why do you use Adobe Media Encoder instead of just doing Export to DVD?

Thanks! This helps a lot so far, just need to figure out how to get that MPEG2 onto a DVD in a way that it will get read by the player.

So you can have a file to be recorded to a DVD in another program like Encore. You could go straight to DVD but kind of a boring DVD.

If you choose to Export to DVD it just burns an MPEG file to a DVD without authering any menu's etc. As art metal art said, if you export using Adobe Media Encoder then you can bring the resulting file into Encore and auther the DVD with menues atc..
