How do you eliminate vignetting on a Fisheye?

i"m getting the century optics .3x fisheye but I know I will get vignetting. I think it looks pretty tacky, anyway to eliminate this or is the only way to fix it is to zoom in? But if you zoom in, you loose that fisheye effect? Is it worth it?

The standard Century Fisheye (stk nbr VS-FEWA-DVX) will produce no vignetting in underscan. The .3x Ultra Fisheye (stk nbr VS-FE3X-DVX) - the one I am sure you are talking about- vignettes on TV transmitted.

Perhaps one of the members experienced in post production will provide more detailed info, but I do know that some users "bump up" the image size to reduce the vignetting as desired or required. Enlarging the image does result in lower resolution--depending on how much you blow it up.

Because the .3x has stronger barrel distortion (fisheye effect) than the standard fisheye, and the effect is strongest right at the edge of the image circle, some users prefer to have some vignetting to maximize "the look".

As an aside, eliminating the vignetting on the DVX100/100A by making the fisheye larger in size would result in a much larger, much heavier , and significantly more expensive attachment due to the cost of the larger elements.
