This guy does this intro which is at 1:42 and 1:51 and says he just uses Sony Vegas Pro 9, This looks more like After Effects. If so how is this done, I want to do an intro similar to this...thanks

If you use stock clips for the animated bits, the simple compositing could be easily done in Vegas. But if you want to make those animated bits, your going to need something more than Vegas.

There's nothing in there which couldn't be done in Vegas with a LOT of keyframing. Other programs would certainly be easier, but you could do in Vegas if it's all you have. It'll just take a while.

No tutorials of anything similar that I know of, but you can noodle around at, say, VASST.com.

I don't see anything immediately which might involve a cookie cutter (which are blunt, rather than precise, tools). Probably mostly a combination of bezier masks, track motion, media generators, and various FX.

yah that has after effects written all over it. but like someone said here, if done in vegas it takes a very long time to do but probably not up to par at the end result.

He's using RIOT GEAR and EVOLUTION - you can get these on Video Co-Pilot's site at http://videocopilot.net - there are tutorials and everything for this. It's much easier to do it in AE, but I guess it could be done in VEGAS... but those are definitely files from the two programs I mentioned... I have them.
