How do you do the Gatoraide commercial effect?

Also used to great effect in The Kid Stays in the Picture.

I know there's a tutorial out there but it's a bit over my head. I tried cutting images out in a photoshop program and then animating them in Premiere but the images look really "cut out". In the commercial you almost feel like you are going around the subjects as the edges look very "rounded inward".

I don't have Adobe photoshop, just Gimp. Seems like the Premiere part is easy, it's getting the photos ready that's the hard part.

It appears like it would be a lot easier to work in After Effects with something like this, not sure if that helps b/c you may not have it but if you do I would give it a whirl there.

Yea, there's no way to do that in Premiere. What you need to do is cut out the background (greenscreen or rotoscope) and then placing the layer into 3D space and then adding the 3D camera move in post. If you notice the move doesn't just zoom in to the actor, the background actually moves in parallax with the subject, which is something that Premiere just can't do.
