How do you crew up your gig? How do you let people know your availability?

I have been in the film industry for 14 years, DP/Electric. When there is a gig coming up, I always spend a good amount of time to find a crew cause everyone on different schedules. It is like a puzzle. And when I am available, I text some people so they know about my availability, it can get annoying so only texted a few selected one but then limited myself for potential works. It is kind of catch 22.

With the tax incentives and all online contents going on, crewing becomes a lot harder. We need crews left and right but there wasn't an efficient way to manage crewing. And there are times, I knew that it is busy out but I am still sitting at home.
I researched for a solid month to find a solution but there wasn't any. I realized that it is not just me going through this problem but the whole film/tv community too. So I decided to build it two years ago.

I bridge both side of the world together with simple share calendars with networking functions build in. Once you add your friends into the app, within a click, you can see who are available on Monday. Vice versa, within a few clicks, I can update my availability and now all my friends will know my latest availability.

It has been tough 2 years, working on set while trying to build this thing, glad I found a partner along the way to help out. It is still in beta testing mode, still a lot of things to fix but we are ready to show it to more people. I hope this community can help us to bring this to the next level. Any feedbacks welcome.

Years ago I discovered that if I kept a record of everyone and everything on every set I worked with, (crew sheets, contact numbers, scripts, rental houses, etc.), before long I was the crossroads of many of the people who I'd kept a record of. They would call me as I had the memory nobody else took the trouble to record.

Made it easier to get work!

Looks like you've solved that for anyone who wants to take the time to fill his app with all the appropriate data. But maybe you should also add in the other resources besides people, that would make it a one-stop app. Or make a companion app that works with it.

Thanks for your inputs. It is my first app, with limited resources, we only able to focus building on the crewing side of thing first. Eventually partner with other companies to do much more.
