How do you boost your blacks like this?

These screen grabs by Zach are awesome shots, but I am wondering how Disjecta boosted his blacks like he did, (using Vegas). Could someone check this link out and let me know how to do make the pictures look like disjecta did.

You need to add a Sony Levels effect to your footage and then move the "input start" to the right a little. That will boost your backs and you can use the other sliders to get a nice balance.

You can also use the "offset" slider in the Color Corrector.

...and that could be a better way to go. I have a very bare working knowledge of Vegas.

I don't know, I just go straight to the color curves where I have full control over everything. If you want to boost the blacks move the bottom left of the curve up and to the left.

Vegas always has 3-4 different ways of doing things.
