How do I uninstall final cut studio?

Hey,
I currently have Final Cut Studio 1 Academic (without the installation discs) installed on my computer and I just bought Final Cut Studio 2.

My first thought was to completely uninstall Final Cut Studio 1 before I install 2. What is the best way of doing this? It is my understanding that Final Cut doesn't have a feature that automatically uninstalls the software. I did find a downloadable third party application that does this, but I'm afraid it will also uninstall my other applications such as After Effects, Photoshop, etc.

Does anyone advise that I should first successfully install Studio 2 before I uninstall 1?

Any advice would be really helpful.
Thanks,
Mike

Thanks for the info guys.
Noah, so I can just upgrade? Even if I'm going from the Academic version of FCS 1 to the Retail version of FCS 2?

kwoff: I also came across that application, however, it says this:

What if I have other pro apps such as Logic or Shake installed on my system?

If you are not planning on reinstalling Final Cut Studio, you will need to reinstall any other pro apps on your system, as they all use common frameworks.

It seems that this app might uninstall other programs as well.

I don't think it actually uninstalls the other programs in their entirety. What it does is uninstall FCS and all of its components. Logic and Shake use some of the same components and will install them if they are not already on your computer. So you have to reinstall those components if you are going to continue using Shake and/or Logic. Kind of a pain, but sometimes you do need to do a complete uninstall of at least some of the applications in FCS to solve a problem, such as the problem a lot of folks, myself included, had a few months ago with Compressor not launching. At that time, I used Appzapper to uninstall Compressor and all of its components (and there were hundreds) so I could do a complete reinstall. It would have been almost impossible to do manually.
