How do I translate something cut in Premiere CS3 to FCP?

Short answer- not easily- at all. Automatic Duck isn't cheap but it's the most pain-free way to go. Your other options include lots of hair-pulling and all-nighters. :P In other words, unless it's really impossible to finish the project any other way, stick in Premiere until it's done.

Ajwwong, in fact, the ONLY way is to export an AAF from Premiere and import it in Final Cut Pro using the "Pro Import FCP 2.0" plugin from Automatic Duck. I've been going crazy over this problem for years, because I need to finish a film started in PPRO. The Plugin costs $500 dollars. So, I am afraid, the only way to get something out of Premiere into FCP without spending $500 is basically to find someone who may have already payed that money and pay them to do it.

Good luck, ajwwong.

Thanks for the tips... and no worries about taking over the thread, cine-ernesto... it's actually very relevant and it's nice to know i'm not the only one suffering... ughs... well, I guess I'll have to see how it all goes. I've got the film in Premiere... and unless Automatic Duck pops up somewhere cheap I might be stuck... [ps. let me know if you find someone who has automatic duck.]
