How do I transfer a Vegas project from one computer to another?

The computer that I normally edit on is down so I've been editing a few small projects on my laptop. Is there a way to export a project and then load it on another computer? Will Vegas export all of the relevant footage?

What's the best / easiest way to do this?

Thanks,
BC

Copy the .veg file, and copy the source footage exactly as it sits on your current drive. Vegas will pick right up like nothing happened.

Hey Starticus,

The best and easiest way I've found is to go to the 'Save As' option and save your project to a new folder with the "Copy media with project" option selected at the bottom of the 'Save As' window. It will open another window named 'Copy Media Options' that gives you the choice to "Copy Source Material" (your source files in full) or "Create Trimmed Copies of Source Material" which allows you to specify handle and tail lengths for the new trimmed clips.

This way you'll get all the clips in your project, copied to a new folder that you can easily move to another drive or computer.

Best Regards,
Andy

Brilliant!

I was hoping there would be something like this in Vegas.

Thanks very much Andy!

This is the best way until the project doesn't contain nested vegs. Nested projects are not supported - just keep in mind
