How do I resize a rectangular mask? [NEWBIE QUESTION]

I have a layer consisting of a video file. On top of that layer I've drawn a rectangular mask using the rectangle tool. Now I want that mask to be slightly bigger than what I initially drew. How do I do that? Using the selection tool and grabbing hold of a corner or a side of the mask just lets me move the mask around, not resizing it.
 
Click in your footage away from the mask. Then either double click mask to resize it or a segment to resize one side. Or in mask properties you can adjust with mask expansion. If you click and hold in the mask you can move it around the footage.
