How do I export as a QT or MPEG file?

Everytime I try to export as a Quick Time or mpeg file it comes up as a FCP file. Wanted to post some of my work this morning for some critique but couldn't get the export to work for me. :undecided

file -> export -> quicktime movie

ttt, no kiddin'?!

I've tried that hence: "Everytime I try to export as a Quick Time"

The only thing I'm getting from doing that is a final cut file, not a QT file.
 
Note that even though FCP produces a file with an FCP type icon it's still a movie file.
If you double click then FCP will open it but you can drag it to QT Player or open it with the QT Player or any other app that deals with movies.
