How do I edit layered clips?!!!

I am editing a music video in Elements 4 and am currently having a serious problem!!!

The booklet doesn't answer the question. How do I edit layered clips? Here is what I am trying to do. I shot a music video with three differerent scenes. I want to stack them on top of each other in the Timeline with the song in the Soudtrack area, synchronize the clipsto the song, and create a video by designating In and Out Points on the various clips.

For example, I would start the video out with Video 1, make an Out Point on Video 1 and an In Point on Video 2 to cut to the footage in Video 2. I may then want to go back to Video 1 before skipping up to Video 3 and back to 1 again, then to 2 and so forth.

I would like to do all of this with In and Out Points in synchronized, layered clips. Is this possible? Or can I "edit" only by cutting from a scene and adding it to the timeline?

My other question is, how do I go from watching one layered Video to another in the Monitor Panel? As it stands now, I can currently only watch Video 3. No matter what I do, I can't get Videos 1 or 2 onto the Monitor Panel.

How am I supposed to edit this video if I can't move from watching one Video to the other and know precisely what's going on at that exact moment in the Timeline in order to know when to cut and when not to? Does anybody feel my pain? Can anyone help me with this? Or do I have to choose a different workflow all together?

There's an "eye" symbol next to each video track, simply turn it off to turn off that track and it'll show the track below. Or there's a multi-cam edit tool in Premiere.

You should be using the multicam edit function....that's what it's designed for. You'll be able to watch all three video streams, in sync and select your edits.

Multi-cam editing

Forgive me for being such a rookie. This is obviously my first, major, complex editing assignment.

Is this multi-cam editing feature available in Elements 4 or only in Pro? I don't remember reading about it in the manual, and I just did a search on the online help and got no results.

I don't believe multicam editing is available in Elements....sorry. It started with Premiere Pro CS3.

I Think I Just Answered My Own Question

I went online, and it looks like this multicam feature is strictly for Elements Pro, starting with 2.0.

Also, Huy Vu, I didn't see the "eye" symbol you referred to next to the video track. All I see is a diamond symbol for marking key frames.

I guess the eye is on Pro as well.

It's a basic function of Premiere, I've circled where it is below
