I am working with some ADR and it sounds way to clean so I am looking for a way to 'Dirty Up' (Lack of a better term) the sound. I am using Premiere and also have access to Auditions.
Ya I've got room tone for everything we ADR'ed so we're covered there. Right now I am messing with the EQ and I was wondering how you match/find out the EQ of the original.
If you're using Final Cut there is a great effect in Sound Track Pro called Match EQ. I've had pretty good luck with it in the past.
See Lynda tutorial on that effect for its use
Beyond steady room ambience, a lot of it depends on what were the constants and variables at play here, especially microphone and environment. Same mic, same distance? EQ should be close already. Very different setting maybe, like dead audio studio instead of original hard surfaced room? Reverb tweaks should help slightly. Or maybe actors just not projecting their ADR lines like they did on camera? Re-record if possible. If all else fails, can you add some appropriate cover in the form of music or ambient sound effects (radio or TV chatter, traffic noise, etc)?
