Hey guys ...

I was asked to provide a video on DVD "in full high resolution quicktime".

I'm not quite sure what that means exactly. I've never burned a qt file to dvd, only preped files via FCP for dvd (creating TS folders etc).

Anyone know what this means?

I'm running FCP 3.0 and DVD SP 2.0

Thanks!!!
K

I would say the personal that asked you to do this doesn't have a clue how DVD's actual work.. since all DVD's have the same resolution of 720x480..

Well, keep in mind that they could have simply meant burn the .mov file to a DVD-R (data-disc style) in its native form... no transcoding.

Yeah, he knows quite a bit about DVDs, it's me who doesn't!

Kappa -- how do I burn in "native"?

Well, if you're using a PC, just basically drag and drop the file directly to the DVD drive... Windows will do the rest. If you're using a Mac... ya got me.

edit: just remembered you were using FCP. Well, I'm sure someone can tell you how to just burn the file to DVD, data-style.

If you're using a Mac, just give him the raw encode.(quicktime) you captured onto a DVD as long as the quicktime is under 4.7 gigs. just drag it into the blank DVD and burn away. But it won't play back on a PC if youd o it that way. Otherwise, you'll need to burn the quicktime though Roxio "Toast" Titanium or something

Yeah, it would be a good idea to make it cross-platform compatible, just in case...
