How do i copy my mini dv tape to another mini dv tape?

Ok. so. i figured this would be pretty simple but apparently it's not... well i'm sure it is ... but i have a mini dv tape that i want to make a copy of, to another mini dv tape.

i have a canon xh a1 , and final cut pro.

i capture the video to a project in final cut pro.

then i put a blank tape in my camera, still connected to the computer of course, and i went to File > Edit to Tape. it plays it, but doesnt record it. I tried Print to Video also. somehow in the mix, it ended up DELETING the captured footage in FCP!!! arg!!!

so now i have to capture it all over again which is really annoying.. can someone maybe provide me with a link to a simple step by step on how to do this? my google machine really didnt help...

Just play the file directly out and hit record on the DV camera- make sure it's in VTR mode with 1394 set as the source first.

thanks Noah. i got it to work. i think i was forgetting to press record first on the camera.. doh!
